Acute granulocytic leukemia (also known as acute myeloid leukemia) is a form of cancer in the blood and bone marrow that interferes with blood cell production by causing an accumulation of immature blood cells called myeloid cells. On this slide, the smaller pink-ish cells are normal red blood cells, and the larger purple-ish cells are myeloid cells.
