Slides: Hydra with food, w.m.
Hydra is a genus of small, freshwater organisms in the phylum Cnidaria (the same phylum as jellyfish and corals) and the class Hydrozoa. This organism reproduces asexually by budding and has a unique ability to regenerate a complete organism from a small segment cut off of the original organism. On this slide, ingested food is visible within the Hydra's digestive tract.
